Deploying Project “Establish a white leg shrimp culturing model complying with VietGAP” in Nghe An

From June 18 – 21, FITES staffs deployed an investigating and assessing mission at two white leg shrimp culturing farm areas in Dien Chau and Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province in order to select five farms meeting the requirements to deploy the project “Establish a white leg shrimp culturing model complying with VietGAP”. This project is a cooperation between National Agricultural Extension Center and FITES with fund supported by Central Agricultural Extension Project 2014.

In the framework of the project, five farms, which is selected to apply white leg shrimp culturing model complying with VietGAP, will be supported 100% seed cost, 30% feed and probiotic costs by Project with total area of 2 hectares; the selected farms must commit correspondently paying and conforming to the requirements of  Project to together deploy VietGAP model. Project will guide five farms in applying VietGAP; from renovating, upgrading producing conditions (water supply and drainage system; rearing and settling pond system; waste treatment system; living quarters; etc.) to establishing a culturing management program complying with VietGAP (establishing technical documents of culturing process; establishing control records of inputs such as seed, feed, medicine, probiotic; medical control records of reared shrimp, diseases, waste; profile on occupational safety; etc.). In addition, Project will provide training course in VietGAP for shrimp culturing farms in Dien Chau and Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province.
